Sage have recently announced that with effect from 30th September 2021, Sage 50 Manufacturing will no longer be supported. Whilst this does not mean that the software will stop working after that date, there will be no further development of the product.

This move has meant that we needed to find an alternative system to support our manufacturing clients. At the beginning of the year we added Cim50 to our portfolio and quickly ensured our team were fully trained and accredited. As CIM Services’ largest Business Partner, we are well placed to support your transition to Cim50 at a time to suit you. We’ve received nothing but positive feedback from our team since their training and they are all excited about the new product and great new features it will bring to our Sage 50 Manufacturing clients.
We know this is a big change but we will help you understand how Cim50 can be configured to support your business effectively.
What you need to know about the changes
- With effect from 30th November 2020 you will no longer be able to add users to Sage 50 Manufacturing.
- As we are unable to obtain 2nd line support from Sage we will be invoicing our renewals pro-rata to 30th September 2021.
- Cim50 is only available on subscription – anybody that upgrades to Cim50 will get a pro-rata credit of the support paid for Sage 50 Manufacturing.

Cim50 gives you the opportunity to manage your stock with its ability to amend sales order despatches or purchase order receipts. With Cim50 you can personalise your advanced filtering and search facility with up to 20 unique analysis codes, depending on the requirements of your business.
Bill of Materials
Cim50 lets you choose what is right for your business, receive a multi-level bill of materials that can build and reverse build. Take advantage of the intense visibility that the audit log gives you and track every change that is made. By giving you an on-going costing history with a detailed breakdown Cim50 can ensure that your build and purchase costs are accurate, which subsequently boosts your confidence. Improve your business’s efficiency and only allocate components when needed. Trial kitting multiple bill of materials allows you to raise works orders and purchase orders for several jobs.
This module is key in order to ensure your goods are manufactured in sufficient time. The amendable documentation details the quantities of components required, which operations are needed and when. Cim50 gives you the opportunity to manage stock movements by raising purchase orders, despatch goods to your subcontract supplier and receive them back within one easy maintenance screen. Reserve your component stock, including batch numbers or serial numbers, or simply issue to the required build. Assign components to specific operations, which in turn, have their own due dates, ensuring you only buy stock when you need it, easing both cash flow and warehouse space.
This module is key to controlling your stock and ensuring goods are manufactured in time to despatch to your customers. This perceptive and intelligent module can recommend purchase orders and works orders based on current demand held within Sage 50 and Cim50. After every MRP run, a simple document detailing how and why it has made the recommendations, enables the user to understand and interrogate the data easily.
Create quotations for manufactured items, configuring them on the fly from within the record itself, including non-stock items. Flexible pricing can define multiple price breaks with automatic cost calculation for pricing break quantities. Raise sales, purchase and works order from within your quote. The detailed cost analysis allows you to view in detail your business’s profit and loss, which is broken down by material, labour, machine, overheads and subcontract costs.
Shop Floor Data Capture
This module allows you to process stock transactions from the convenience of a handheld tablet or workshop PC, while it works harmoniously with Stock Control, Bill of Materials and Works Orders. Streamline your production processes integrating seamlessly with Stock Control, SFDC allows you to process stock location transfers and quarantine inspections against products. Effortlessly process goods for despatch, goods received and stock counts, with figures being automatically uploaded to Cim50. Control your built items and immerse yourself in a plethora of features with SFDC and Works Orders. Cim50 can increase product profitability as SFDC allows you to process BOM builds/reverse builds, scanning out/in component stock and adjusting in/out finished items.
