Last weekend, the Solutions team enjoyed an all-expenses paid 'mystery' weekend away as a 'thank you' from the Directors for a successful financial year. This year was our third consecutive mystery weekend - previous locations included Windsor and Yorkshire. We were looking forward to a few days packed full of activities with the rest of the Solutions team and our other halves.
On Saturday 7th September, we were picked up from Solutions' HQ and headed for our mystery location, or locations in this case. It was revealed that we were heading to Thetford Forest, in Norfolk, participating in multiple adventurous activities including Forest Segway tours, archery competitions and a BBQ lunch... we couldn't wait!
The Forest Segway tour was fantastic and the clear favourite of the weekend. Once confident enough, and after lots of practice, we were free to explore the forest. Despite travelling at a whopping speed of 12mph, a few still managed to fall off! Unfortunately there is no photographic evidence of this.
Next was archery. Despite a lot of competitive personalities we all had a fantastic time perfecting our skills and (attempting) to aim for bullseye! This resulted in a competition to see who could get the highest score.*
*No Solutions members or partners were harmed during the making of this weekend... although Managing Director, Iain, wasn't too impressed when he became the target!
After we'd worked up an appetite, we sat down for a BBQ lunch before heading to our next destination - the hotel! We stayed at the Lynford Hall Hotel, home to famous BBC TV series 'Allo, Allo!' with impressive formal gardens and a lake, surrounded by acres of forest close to the village of Mundford. As the team checked in, we had time for a few drinks before heading back out for a fantastic dinner at the Crown Hotel where we over indulged in delicious food and relaxed after a tiring but brilliant day.

On Sunday the phrase 'hair of the dog' seems appropriate, as our journey continued to St George's Distillery in Norwich, home of The English Whisky Company. Here we received a guided tour, enjoyed some whisky tasting, and finished off with a buffet lunch.
The final leg of the tour was in the beautiful city of Cambridge where we experienced punting along the River Cam. We were able to see the city in style and get a glimpse at the impressive colleges. The day ended in a quintessentially British way by having afternoon tea next to the river before heading home to Nottingham. What a fantastic weekend!
A huge thank you to Joanne Barker for organising an unforgettable weekend.
Here's to next year...
